Yogi Ashokananda - Himalayan Hatha & Prana Kriya Yoga

Yogi Ashokananda was born in the spiritual heart of India and began his yoga journey from his formative years, under the guidance of his grandfather. Guided by an unbroken lineage of Indian masters and siddhas, he developed his own practice systems - Himalayan Hatha Yoga and Prana Kriya Yoga - deeply rooted in the ancient Indian tradition.

His expertise covers a complete spectrum: from the physical and energetic work of asanas and sukshyam vyayam (subtle exercises for the energetic body), to meditation techniques such as the Science of Relaxation Active Meditation, Atma Kriya Meditation, and his own systems of Kriya, Tantra, and Kundalini.

Founder of Yogiville Gurukul (with centers in southern India and Croatia), Yogi Ashokananda Foundation (India, 2013) and Ashok Tree Foundation (UK, 2014), his work combines global teaching with charitable projects in education, health, and social welfare - including the Sita Devi School in Tamil Nadu, where meditation and yoga are part of the curriculum for children aged 4-10.

Regularly invited to conferences, satsangs, and discussions at renowned institutions worldwide, Yogi Ashokananda teaches in English, Hindi, and Sanskrit.

Class 1

Foundations of Mastery - Himalayan Hatha Yoga

Stability in body, stability in consciousness

Mastery begins with the foundation - without stability in the body, there can be no stability in consciousness.

This session opens the Yoga Mastery Journey through the disciplined practice of Himalayan Hatha Yoga. Through clear and methodical exploration of asanas, the emphasis falls not on performance or intensity, but on consciously inhabiting each posture, allowing the body to organize with balance, integrity, and ease. Suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners.

What to expect

  • Methodical exploration of asanas - each posture is approached with attention to alignment and natural breath coordination, building a solid, intelligent foundation - not a mechanical routine.
  • Conscious presence in movement - the emphasis is not on intensity or performance, but on the quality of attention with which you inhabit each posture.
  • Return to the essential - a session that offers both foundation for beginners and refinement for advanced practitioners, bringing practice back to simplicity and clarity.
  • The seed of mastery - an introduction to Yogi Ashokananda's Himalayan Hatha Yoga, a system built on ancient traditional principles for purification and revitalization.
Mastery Mastery doesn't begin with complexity - it begins with clarity and conscious presence in every moment.

Class 2

Sangha & Vedic Chanting Meditation

Community, reflection, and the Vedic oral tradition

Mastery is not cultivated in isolation alone; it is strengthened and clarified in the resonance of others walking the same path.

This session brings the Yoga Mastery Journey into the dimension of shared presence - Sangha, the community. Through attentive listening, reflection, and guided dialogue, the session closes with Vedic Chanting Meditation, an ancient oral tradition based on the sacred texts of India. Suitable for all levels.

What to expect

  • Guided dialogue and reflection - an open space where participants are invited to ask questions, share perspectives and deepen understanding through the collective energy of community.
  • The power of Sangha - an experience showing that practice is not just a solitary path; clarity and depth grow in the resonance of those walking alongside you.
  • Vedic Chanting Meditation - a millennial oral tradition based on the sacred texts of India, transmitted through rhythm, precise intonation, and call-and-response chanting.
  • A deep meditative state through sound - voice and intonation become instruments for calming the mind and connecting with a vaster dimension of practice, beyond movement and posture.
Sangha When the voice aligns with intention and tradition, sound becomes a path to self.

Class 3

Directing the Energy - Prana Kriya Yoga

Movement, breathing, and consciousness of energy flow

Once the body has been stabilized and the breath refined, the practitioner begins to work consciously with the flow of energy.

This session advances the Yoga Mastery Journey through the disciplined practice of Prana Kriya Yoga. Integrating movement, breath, primordial sound, and focused attention in a structured way, it cultivates inner sensitivity and balance - not intense or spectacular experiences. Suitable for all levels.

What to expect

  • Integration of movement with breath and primordial sound - movements are coordinated with breath in a conscious, intentional rhythm, working simultaneously at physical, energetic, and mental levels.
  • Sensitivity to inner energy - through methodical practice, participants observe how energy is perceived in the body and how alignment, rhythm, and ease create stability and inner balance.
  • Energetic discipline without force - a careful introduction to working with prana, cultivating subtle perception and inner awareness, not performance or intensity.
  • Continuity in the mastery journey - the session builds directly on the foundation established in Himalayan Hatha Yoga, deepening practice and refining the quality of presence in movement.
Prana Energy is not controlled through force - it is directed through attention, rhythm, and conscious presence.

Class 4

Refining Energy - Pranayama & Atma Kriya Meditation

Breathing, refinement, and inner stillness

If the body is the vehicle, the breath is the bridge between body and consciousness - and this session explores exactly that bridge.

This final session deepens the Yoga Mastery Journey through the fundamental practice of Pranayama and closes in the meditative silence of Atma Kriya Meditation. As the breath stabilizes, consciousness naturally turns inward, bringing calm, harmony, and clarity that extend into daily life. Suitable for all levels.

What to expect

  • Fundamental Pranayama techniques - simple, accessible breathing exercises that deepen understanding of the relationship between inhalation, exhalation, the subtle pauses between them, and inner states.
  • Conscious observation, not control - the emphasis falls on the intelligence of the breath, not force or rigid discipline; refinement comes from attention and balance, not effort.
  • Atma Kriya Meditation - a quiet, receptive practice that cultivates inner presence and deep stillness, supported by breath, gentle focus, and openness to the present moment.
  • Closing the mastery journey - the session brings together all the threads explored: body, breath, energy, and consciousness, in a state of clarity, stability, and authentic connection with self.
Pranayama When the breath is still, the mind becomes still - and there, in silence, you find yourself.
